Minutes of the Cascade Charter Township Board
Special Board Meeting
Wednesday, October 7, 2009
5:30 p.m.
Cascade Library Wisner Center
2870 Jacksmith Avenue S.E.
Grand Rapids, Michigan

Article 1. Supervisor Beahan called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m.
Present: Supervisor Beahan, Trustees Lewis, Koessel, Fox, Goldberg, and Clerk Goodyke.
Absent: None
Also Present: Manager Cousins and Attorney David T. Caldon.

Article 2. Supervisor Beahan led the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.

Article 3. Motion was made by Trustee Lewis and supported by Trustee
Fox to approve the Agenda as presented. Motion carried unanimously.

Article 4. Public Comment (None)

Article 5. New Business

Article 6. Closed Session
A. Burton Park Easement Issue.
Motion was made by Trustee Fox and supported by Trustee Koessel to recess into Closed Session. Motion carried unanimously by roll call vote.

Motion was made by Trustee Koessel and supported by Trustee Lewis to reconvene into Regular Session. Motion carried unanimously by roll call vote.

Article 7. New Business continued if necessary
Motion was made by Trustee Goldberg and supported by Trustee Fox to authorize our Township Attorney to defend our easement rights in relation to the Burton Park entry off of Burton St., and remove all previous offers made to Ms. Cotter for improvements in light of her repudiation of any possible settlement offer that previously had been extended to her because of her continued threats and unjustified positions. Motion carried unanimously.

Manager Cousins asked what date the Board would like to have Progressive A&E to give the Board a list of citizen input. Manager Cousins stated that if they were ready, they would be put on the Agenda for October 14th.

Article 8. Board Comments
Trustee Lewis offered the following comments:
" We did two interviews for the Treasurer's position today and we have an interview coming up on Monday with another candidate. We have put it in the paper, so we expect that we will probably get the mailman bringing up some more applications. We are under the gun time wise…we need to move as quickly as we can. But right now we have some candidates that we are somewhat comfortable with.

Article 9. Adjournment
Motion was made by Trustee Lewis and supported by Trustee Goldberg to adjourn. Motion carried unanimously.
