CASCADE CHARTER TOWNSHIP
Special Goal Setting Meeting

Monday, January 26, 2004
12:00 PM

Article 1. Supervisor Julien called the meeting to order at 12:00 p.m.
Present: Carpenter, Goodyke, Jones, Julien, Kleinheksel, Parrish, and Timmons
Others Present: Manager Cravens

Article 2. Discussion of Board Goals for 2004
Supervisor Julien listed the goals solicited from the Board Members. Each
individual goal was discussed. Several of the goals related to the same
issues and were combined. The Board agreed upon the following goals:

-Push the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) and the Kent
County Road Commission (KCRC) to support the extension of M-50
along Snow Avenue from I-96 to M-21.

-Propose and pass a millage to continue 24/7 Fire Department protection
in the future.

-Determine whether to proceed with an expansion of the Cascade Public
Library and complete construction plans if needed.

-Complete the sale of 2501 Thornapple River Drive (the Lenger property).

-Complete the Camelback Bridge/Thornapple River Dr. Pathway. Also
design and install landscaping for the new causeway.

-Study the feasibility of installing signs at critical points of entry into
Cascade Township (e.g. Cascade Road, 28th Street, Thornapple River
Drive, Whitneyville Ave., and Patterson Ave., etc.)

-Complete the Cascade Transmission Water main crossing under the
Thornapple River.

-Expand communication opportunities to residents and neighborhood
Associations.

Article 3. Adjournment
Clerk Kleinheksel supported by Trustee Parrish moved to adjourn. The motion carried and the meeting was adjourned at 2:00 pm.
