2010 Board Goals
1. Complete the re-construction of the Township
website to make it a state of the art tool for marketing and
promotion of the township.
Expand its use as a communication medium including pages for
a Township calendar and video streaming of meetings to showcase our
township as a great place to live and work.

Codify the General Ordinances of the Township.
3.
Continue implementation of economic growth opportunities with other
agencies.
4.
Consider implementing a Farmers Market in or
near the central “Village” area for
the residents of Cascade.
Explore the needs and best location to provide an exciting
and pleasant social event for the public.
5.
Monitor the various
Township budgets to find ways to match
any reduction in revenues with
reduced expenditures.
6.Examine the opportunities and ramifications of an ordinance
to eliminate the use of phosphorus based fertilizers in the
Township.
7.
Investigate the educational and financial opportunities for the
installation of wind turbines and solar panels at the Cascade
Library.
8.
Continue to improve the Burton and Peace Parks
by installing parking areas, marked trails and perimeter signage in
the parks. Removing
unneeded interior fencing and debris from both parks.
9.
Explore opportunities to add to the pathway
system in the Township.
Communicate with neighboring municipalities to connect their
pathways to Township pathways.
Create a master plan for future additions and provide
recommendations for funding the construction and maintenance of an
expanded pathway system in the Township.
10.
Assess the functions of the many Township
services and consider ways to coordinate or consolidate services
with neighboring municipalities.
Communicate with other units of government to focus on
improved services to Township residents with a possible reduction of
expenditures for the services.
11. Develop responsible options to GO! Bus expenditures. Look
at the cost of creating a Township operated bus system and/or a
system used in conjunction with Ada and Grand Rapids Townships.
