Parks &
Recreation
The Cascade Charter Township Buildings and Grounds Department
oversees the day to day maintenance of the Township’s parks, as well
as the pedestrian pathways. Cascade Township offers four (4) parks,
all which vary in size and offer something different. Park hours are
7:00 am to dusk. The Township also offers approximately 17 miles of
pedestrian pathways, which are available for use year around.
The Township also has a Parks and Recreation Committee, which is a
voluntary board whose members serve staggered three year terms.
Appointments are made by the Township Board in the Fall of each year,
with effective dates on January 1st of the year indicated. The
Committee meets on the third Tuesday of each month at 12:00 noon in
the Township Hall.
The Parks and Recreation Committee provides an advisory role to the
Township Board on matter concerning our Parks as well as providing
input for the Parks and Recreation Master Plan and submits Capital
Improvement recommendations appropriate to Parks and Recreation for
inclusion in the six year Capital Improvements Plan. The Planning
Department and Buildings and Grounds Department both provide staff
support for the Parks and Recreation Committee and questions regarding
the Township Parks should be directed to those departments.
